1. Tom and Joe stole some food from home and went to Jackson Island by boat to live a pirate's life. For the first several days it was exciting, yet soon everything started to turn pale. Knowing that people thought they were dead, Tom proposed to go back out of guilt.
2. In order to find the treasure, Tom and Joe Harper decided to explore the haunted house where they found Injun Joe, who found a box of gold there. The two boys ran from the murderer and came back with nothing.
3. Tom and Becky got lost in a stalactite grotto accidently on a camping. Hungry and thirsty, Tom went for the exit on his own. Out of expectation, he ran into Injun Joe, the murderer. Luckily, Tom managed to find another way out and escaped with Becky，and Joe got what he deserved, death.
