Does copyright really regulate the information?
the scope or subject matter of copyright, expression of idea not idea itself, and there are three requirements for expression:
(1) it must be original
(2) fixed in any tangible medium.
(3) expression must be “nonutilitarian” or “nonfunctional” in nature

1 Originality Requirement
original authorship----creative expression
originality determines the boundaries of the copyright
Originality does not mean that the author was the first to have the idea, but only that the work owes its origin to that author, ., the author did not copy the expression contained in the work from someone else.

Copyright does not protect the fact info
originality also means copyright does not protect the fact information--whether newly discovered or not and regardless of how those facts are deployed or arranged in the medium of expression.
This ensures that no author can obtain a monopoly on information properly belonging to the public. This bring much problem to database protection.

2 Idea/Expression Dichotomy
As application rule of originality doctrine.
copyright does not protect a general plot idea or "theme" for a book or a movie, and does not protect real or assumed facts
where idea and expression are merged, or become a "unity, merger theory is applied to limit copyrightable scope

邓丹晴于1994年在《安徽新戏》（1994年第4期）上公开发表原创电视剧本《风云一日天柱山》。该剧本主要描述抗战时期一位援华美军飞行员（男主人公）因战斗机被击落负伤，为一名中国少女钱山妞（女主人公）所救，与钱山妞兄妹寻找新四军的过程中被日军伏击被捕，后在各方人士的共同努力下获救，并随国民党军队离开。其间飞行员与救助他的另一名女子吴秀晴产生恋情，最后钱山妞为救护男主人公被日寇杀害，男主人公脱险后将她称为“上帝天堂的女神”。该剧本具有一定影响力。
