Centrifuge Model 9000 Operation and Service Manual 67 Maintenance Section 8 : Maintenance The Series 9000 Centrifuge was designed with maintenance personnel in mind. The front door and both side doors are removable for easy access to all of the ponents. The back door is hinged for strength and safety purposes. The back door supports the motor controller, high voltage panel, breaker, cooling fan, and bulkhead for the power cord. When any of the doors are opened, one of four microswitches will shut off power to the CPU. See Figure 8B. If one of the doors is opened while the centrifuge is running, a CPU failure will occur and the centrifuge will decelerate. Each door microswitch can be defeated for the purpose of trouble shooting. A slot is cut into each switch so that the switch pin can be locked in the retracted postion. Use this chart as a guide when trouble shooting to help pin-point the problem. A maintenance and calibration schedule is shown in Section .
