Abstract
:In view of the ultra⁃short baseline positioning using Chan algorithm, positioning error increases
with the expansion of distance range. For this, a collaborative localization algorithm is proposed which is
based on Chan and particle swarm optimization ( PSO). Firstly, initial solution of target position is
estimate through Chan algorithm. Secondly, the result obtained through PSO in the search space defined
by the initial solution, is compared with the initial calculation result. Finally, positioning result is
obtained until constraints are met. The simplicity and high positioning accuracy of Chan, when the TDOA
measurement error is small, and the group searching characteristics of PSO are sufficiently assimilated
into the collaborative algorithm. It also overcomes the shortcoming of easily falling into local convergence
values or being premature in PSO algorithm. Experimental results demonstrate that the collaborative
algorithm can effectively improve the positioning accuracy of target position in ultra⁃short baseline
underwater acoustic positioning, and h
