Abstract:A comparative study of conventional leaching and ultrasonic-assisted leaching of manganese from
rhodochroite was conducted applying rhodochrosite as raw materials.Effects of ultrasonic power,L/S,
mass ratio of acid to ore,temperature,and time on Mn leaching efficiency were discussed.The results
show that leaching efficiency of Mn is up to 94.09% under the optimum conditions including ultrasonic
power of 60W,L/S of 5L/g,mass ratio acid to ore of 0.58,temperature of 50℃,and time of 2.5h,
which is about 7percent points higher than that of conventional leaching under the same conditions.The
passivation layer of CaSO4·2H2O is refined by ultrasonic during leaching,and solid-liquid mass transfer
resistance is reduced.Moreover,the mineral inclusion is opened and formation of new reaction interface is
promoted,so the leaching efficiency of Mn is improved.These results provide a new way for Mn leaching
from rhodochroite.
