旅游资源丰富而独特。丹霞地貌神奇罕见，石林景观鬼斧神工，玉皇顶冠赤兽遗址亚洲独一无二，贾寨地主庄园、石鼓明清老街、柳林文化漂流、天池石林等开发潜力巨大，受到中新社、湖北电台、十堰电视台等众多媒体的持续关注和报道，吸引了台湾、武汉等地的投资商纷纷前往实地考察。其中，太极峡天然形成九曲回还的峡谷，到处悬崖绝壁高耸，绿树藤蔓倒挂，山泉飞瀑遍布，曲径长潭幽静，花草鸟鱼竞美，置身其间，如在画中；尤其峡谷两侧的青龙山、黄龙山龙头缠绕依偎，形成了天然立体的太极图案，堪称世间一绝；丹霞地貌，被武汉大学、中国地质大学教授认定为长江以北、湖北省内发育面积最大，内容丰富而最具欣赏性、典型性、科普性的地质遗迹，可称为天然地质博物馆；峡谷上游六个大溶洞中，最大的可容数千人，相传是古代楚国娘娘公主们休闲隐居之地，南面仍保留着屈山天然狩猎场。
