　　邯郸是著名的成语之都，留有成语典故１０００多条，“邯郸学步〞“价值连城〞等许多耳熟能详的成语就出自这里。城建中，邯郸从细微处入手，注意以这些成语典故为题材，用雕塑小品等多种方式装点美化自己的城市。在城市出入口，“胡服骑射〞等铜雕向游客展现这座城市曾有的辉煌；在街道，人们可以看到“黄粱美梦〞“脱颖而出〞等石雕、浮雕；在广场上，就是用于绿化的植物雕塑也不忘讲述与这座城市有关的成语典故。目前，邯郸市共建有２４处与邯郸成语典故相关的城市广场，大型园林工程――成语典故苑即将改建扩建。
　　作为一座古城，邯郸市在旧城改造中十分注重对历史遗存的保护。在对聚集有回车巷、学步桥等历史遗迹的串城街进行改造时，邯郸市并不是一味进行商业开发，而是利用现有的历史文化资源将其打造为古文化一条街，以提升城市文化品位。

都市区土地利用规划
市域城镇空间结构:
1.“一个都市区〞：构筑环城30公里半径的卫星城圈，形成中心城区为核心，卫星城为不同功能载体的组团式都市区。规划结合行政区划调整，进一步增强中心城区对周边区域的辐射力和吸引力。
2.“二条城镇开展主轴线〞：为沿南北向京广铁路、京珠高速铁路和东西向青红高速公路、邯长邯济铁路及309国道沿线的城镇开展轴线。
3.“四个主要节点〞：涉县、馆陶、大名、曲周。
