我们来自全球各地的参展方和全部参加者，在“城市d cultural conflicts are becoming urban problems with a global scope. For historical and current reasons, these phenomena are especially prominent in many developing countries. The Shanghai Expo responded to the times by selecting cities as its theme. It also introduced the first-ever Urban Best Practices Area and Virtual Expo to pursue a ground-breaking exploration of the possible solutions to the common dilemmas faced by humankind.


今日，上海世博会马上闭幕，我们高度确定，世博会作为文明展现与沟通平台的重要价值，作为对本届世博会思想成果的总结，我们全都同意发表《上海宣言》，以表达城市时代全球公众对和谐美妙城市生活的共同愿景。我们全都认为，和谐城市应当是建立在可持续进展根底之上的合理有序、自我更新、布满活力的城市生命体。和谐城市，应当是生态环境友好、经济节省高效、社会公正和谐的城市综合体。我们信任，这样的和谐城市是实现“城市，让生活更美妙”的有效途径。


Today, as this grand gathering comes to a close, we sing high praise for the important value of the World Expo as a platform to confront these challenges and as a vehicle for dynamic exchange and interaction between civilizations. We enthusiastically issue this Shanghai Declaration as a summary of the substantive achievements of the Shanghai Expo and an expression of the shared aspirations of people around the world for a “Better City, Better Life.“
