1. 机械设计及理论
(1)现代筑养路机械设计理论及设备
主要研究新原理、新技术在工程机械中的应用，为现代工程机械提供创新设计原理和技术。研究筑养路机械设计理论及设备产品结构,提高其性能参数,加快产品更新换代，主要目标是提高产品的广泛适应性、作业效率、降低能耗，提高其工作的可靠性和机械使用寿命。
(2) 液压系统振动与噪声控制
主要研究工程液压系统流体脉动与冲击产生机理、传播特性、减振机理，研究液压系统振动控制方法与技术。
(3) 机电液系统动力学建模与仿真
以提高工程机械系统可靠性、动力性、平安性、效率及环保等使用性能为目标，研究机电液系统动力学系统的建模理论和仿真技术,为现代工程机械机电液系统的性能评估、优化设计、节能设计提供科学依据，寻找改善现代工程机械机电液系统设计的途径。
(4) 现代机械协同设计理论与方法
以系统的整体性能最优为目标，用多学科优化设计理论，研究复杂机械系统多目标协同优化设计的理论和技术，探索复杂机械系统新的设计途径。
(5) 机械CAD/CAE/CAM
研究工程机械结构的有限元建模与分析技术和虚拟设计与制造技术，开发基于特征建模技术根底上的集成化设计系统，并针对CAD/ CAE/CAM集成中的产品信息建模技术以及面向实际应用的CAD/CAM集成系统进行研究。
