Abstract. Per e of rural residents in three cities in southern Shaanxi were analyzed according to variance analysis method, the author bined structural data on per e of rural residents, and offered suggestions for future development of these cities.

Southern Shaanxi includes Hanzhong, Ankang and Shangluo, it is one of three major economic areas in Shaanxi province. Southern Shaanxi has total area of 70,200 km2, which accounts for % of total area of Shaanxi Province, by the end of 2013, its resident population reached million, which accounted for % of total resident population in Shaanxi Province, and its GDP reached billion yuan, namely % of the province's total GDP. Southern shaanxi region is one of poor areas in China and a core water conservation area for South Water Transfer Project and a key ecological function area. Comparative study e of rural residents in the area was of great importance.
