Author
Margaret Mitchell:born in Atlanta, ia. She spent her childhood in the laps (环境)of Civil War veterans (内战退伍军人)and of her maternal relatives, who had lived through the Civil War(美国南北战争) .After graduating from Washington Seminary, she attended Smith College, but just one year later,in 1918,She returned to Atlanta to take over (接管)the household after her mother‘s death earlier that year from the great Spanish flu pandemic (西班牙流感)of 1918.
It is difficult for me to introduce this classical novel by a few sentences .Every time I try ,I always leave out some fantastic parts. But I will introduce some ettable parts which leave a strong impression on me.

Ellen had never told her that desire and attainment were two different matters ;life had not taught that the race was not to the swift .She lay in the silvery shadows with courage rising and made the plans that a sixteen-year-old girl makes when life has been so pleasant that defeat is an impossibility and a pretty dress and a plexion are weapons to vanquish fate.
