In 1840, when the British Queen Victoria (Alexandra Victoria, 1819-1901) got married, she dressed in a white gown produced by Chinese brocade(织锦), trailing (拖尾)18 feet long, with a white veil(头纱), from head to foot ,the pure white dressing surprised the crowd. But before the wedding of Queen Victoria, members’ of the British royal family wedding dress was the crown jewels, with jewel encrusted silver gowns, covered with a coat of traditional dress.(头戴宝石皇冠、配上镶满珠宝银饰的晚礼服、外披一件毛皮大衣的传统装扮)moreover, the sensational (轰动的)dressing quickly spread became a fashion widely.
