[作者简介]
白居易〔772—846〕,字乐天,号香山居士、醉吟先生。祖籍太原〔今山西〕,曾祖父白温迁居下圭〔今陕西渭南〕,遂为下圭人,中唐时期伟大的现实主义诗人。白居易的诗题材丰富、内容深刻,表达平易浅近,贴切流畅。现存白诗近三千首,数量当推为唐代诗人之冠。他曾将自己的诗分为四类:讽谕、闲适、感伤、杂律。他本人最得意,价值也最高的是他的讽谕诗。在文学上,他主张“文章合为时而著,歌诗合为事而作〞,强调继承我国古典诗歌的现实主义优良传统,反对“潮风雪,弄花草〞而别无寄托的作品,是新乐府运动的倡导者,在文学史上有重要的地位。长篇叙事诗?长恨歌?、?瑟瑟行?等名篇那么代表他艺术上的最高成就。

[背景介绍]
白居易是在长庆二年〔公元822年〕的七月被任命为杭州剌史的,而在宝历元年〔公元825年〕三月又出任了苏州剌史,所以这首?钱塘湖春行?应当写于长庆三、四年间的春天。

[层次结构]
首联从大处落笔,写孤山寺所见之景。第一句是地点,第二句是远景。“初平〞,写春水初生,略与堤平。“云脚低〞,写白云低垂,与湖水相连,勾出了早春的轮廓。脚下平静的水面与天上低垂的云幕构成了一副宁静的水墨西湖图。
颔联写莺燕,是诗人游程中所见。莺是春的歌手,都争着飞到向阳的树上去歌唱;燕是春的信使,已开始衔泥筑巢,一片生机勃勃之势。用“早〞来形容黄莺,表达了白居易对这些充满生机的小生命的由衷的喜爱。一个“争〞字,让人感到春光的难得与珍贵。用一个“啄〞字,来描写燕子那忙碌而兴奋的神情,似乎把小燕子也写活了。这两句着意描绘出莺莺燕燕的动态,从而使得全诗洋溢着春的活力与生机。

从孤山寺的北面到贾亭的西面,湖面春水刚与堤平,白云重重叠叠,同湖面上的波澜连成一片。
几处早出的黄莺争着飞向向阳的树木,谁家新来的燕子衔着春泥在筑巢。
繁多而多彩缤纷的春花渐渐要迷住人的眼睛,浅浅的春草刚刚能够遮没马蹄。
我最喜爱西湖东边的美景,游览不够,尤其是绿色杨柳荫下的白沙堤。
[诗文赏析]
从孤山北面到现在的平湖秋月、白堤,诗人一路走来一路向人们报告春的信息:湖面春水新生、树上春莺争鸣、空中春燕衔泥、堤岸春花渐开、春草刚绿,诗人敏锐细腻的笔触,让人们从中体会到西湖正在舒展地着上春装。诗人赞美西湖的春色,并且指出他最爱在白沙堤上行走。白堤的两边是水,堤两旁种满了柳树、桃树。春天走在白堤上,澹澹的湖水就在你的脚边,你仿佛走在水面上;初春的柳枝如烟如雾,如丝如缕,飘拂在你的脸上,使你心中涌生无限温柔无限爱,你像在梦境、在仙境。当春天走在白堤上时,你就更能体味到诗人写这首诗时的感觉和心情了。
