Introduction
Blackbeard was at the height of his fame(声名显赫) between 1716 and 1718, and was the most famous pirate of all time(有史以来).He and his crew attacked and robbed ships to make their fortune(发财), and struck fear into the hearts of his victimes(受害者). Then the British navy(海军) was begged to stop him .
Chapter1 He's Pure Evil
Lieutenant Robert Maynard was asked to hunt down knew that Blackbeard's favourite game was playing with fire—he would lead his crew down into the hole and light fires in that dark place. Sometimes he would shot his own men for nothing at all(毫无缘由). When he announced the order, there was a murmur(低声抱怨)among the soldiers. He tried to clam the soldiers' fears,although he was scared. He is not a coward(胆小鬼).
Chapter2 Ocracoke Inlet奥克拉科克湾
Blackbeard's ship was called the Adventure, and was at anchor(停泊着) in Ocracoke Inlet. The British navy had to attack him with sloops(单桅帆船) ,because the bay was too shallow(浅的). Blackbeard's ship was armed with 40 big guns(大炮), but theirs had nothing. Therefore,the Lieutenant was worried about the battle, although they outnumbered(在数量上超过) the pirates.
