1-MAST (Derrick)
Steel tower provides the vertical lifting capacity needed for drilling wells.
Derrick Man is the member of the drilling crew who works up monkey board where the upper ends of stands are handled.
The Height & Capacity of the Derrick depends on the well depth requirements.
HOISTING SYSTEM
2-CROWN BLOCK
The upper fixed pulley assembly at the top of the derrick.
It consist of 4-6 sheaves according to derrick design plus one sheave (fast line sheave).

3-TRAVELING BLOCK
The pulley block suspended from the Crown Block of a drilling rig, from which the hooks and Swivel are turn suspended.

4-SWIVEL
The rotary bearing from which Kelly and string are suspended.
The swivel transfer the mud pass from rotary hose to drill string by goose neck assembly.
ROTATION SYSTEM
5-ROTARY TABLE
This assembly transfer the rotation to the drilling string through Kelly and bushing.
As well it holds the weight of string and casing by using slips.

6- TOP DRIVE SYSTEM TDS
It is not necessary to find TDS in every drilling rigs but new generation style of drilling used the TDS, no any use of Kelly and rotary table to rotate the drilling string.
