注意事项
将自己的校名、姓名、学校代号、准考证号写在答题卡1和答题卡2上,将本试卷代号划在答题卡2上。
把试题册、答题卡均不得带出考场。考试结束后,教师收卷后才可离开考场。
仔细读懂题目的说明。
在30分钟内做完答题卡1上的作文题。30分钟后考生按指令启封试题册。在接着的15分钟内完成快速阅读理解部分的试题。然后监考员收取答题卡1,考生在答题卡2上完成其余部分的试题。全部答题时间为125分钟,不得拖延答题。
考生必须在答题卡上作答,凡写在试题册上的大案一律无效。

Labor Force
The labor force is the part of a nation's population that works for pay or that is looking for a paying job. In 1800, the United States had about 2 million people in its labor force. Most of them worked on farms, most of whom were men. In 1993, about 130 million Americans were in the labor force. 96 million workers were found in large cities, 46 percent of whom were women.
New Kinds of Jobs
In the twentieth century, the U. S. labor force has undergone many changes. One of the most significant of these changes is in the decline in the number of blue-collar jobs and the rise in the number of white-collar jobs. A blue-collar job involves manual or outdoor labor. Blue-collar workers include factory assemblers and welders; carpenters, plumbers (水暖工), mechanics, and painters, construction workers, and truck drivers. The future will see a even more declining need for blue-collar workers. Some of their jobs will be taken over by advanced automated puterized machinery that can do certain blue-collar jobs more quickly and efficiently than people can.
