1. Introduction
With the continuous advancement of China’s urbanization, the large-scale urbanization of migrant workers has become a reality. However, the institutional problems faced by migrant workers in the process of urbanization have become an important reason that hinders their realization of citizenship. Migrant workers' urbanization is of great significance for achieving urban-rural integration, promoting social fairness and development. Therefore, studying the institutional problems of migrant workers' urbanization has important reference value for promoting the urbanization process.
2. Problems of the land system
The land system is one of the important factors that affect migrant workers' urbanization. Currently, the living and working of migrant workers in cities still rely on the policy of returning cultivated land to forests and grasslands in rural areas, which means they do not have their own land resources. This makes it difficult for migrant workers to obtain legitimate housing and employment opportunities in cities.
