URBANIZATION
ABSTRACT
Urbanization is one of the most important social and economic phenomenon in the world. Since the reform and opening up, the urbanization of our country has achieved great ess. Nowadays, the urbanization rate has reached the world average. But there are still some problems in the current process of urbanization, such as the low quality of population urbanization, land sprawl and population urbanization’s lagging behind land urbanization, and as a result, a series of social influences have been caused. The main task of urbanization should not only be the increase of speed, but also improvement of quality. We should built China’s urbanization into a new-type urbanization which is harmonious, ecologic livable, which can hardly do without the coordination of population urbanization and land urbanization. Therefore, the research on population urbanization and land urbanization is of great importance to our country’s urbanization development.
Firstly, the development of our country’s population urbanization and land urbanization from 1990 to 2012 pared and analyzed quantitatively. The results shows that from 1990 to 2000, the speed of population urbanization and land urbanization is similar, but from 2000 to 2012, the land urbanization is significantly faster than the population urbanization. Secondly, use coefficient of dispersion to measure coordination degree, this paper divided 2000-2012 into two stages, and calculated the coordination degree of population urbanization and land urbanization respectively, then classified China’s 30 provinces (excluding Tibet) based on the coordination degree. The result shows most areas have the problem that the population urbanization and land urbanization is uncoordinated.
