Meter (韵律)
The pattern of rhythm in a poem.
Iamb 抑扬格 unstressed+stressed
Sǒ lóng ǎs mén cǎn bréathe, ǒr éyes cǎn sée,
Sǒ lóng lǐves thís ǎnd thís gǐves lífe tǒ thée.
2) Trochee 扬抑格 stressed+unstressed
Twínklě,twínklě, líttlě stár,
Hów ǐ wónděr whát yǒu áre!
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky.
3) Spondee 扬扬格
The long day wanes: the slow moon climbs: the deep
Moans round with many voinces. Come, my friends,
‘Tis not too late to seek a newer world.

2. Rhyme 押韵
1)Alliteration (head rhyme/initial rhyme)头韵
Eg.
The fair breeze blew, the white foam flew,
The furrow followed free:
We were the first that ever burst
Into that silent sea.
All things counter, original, spare, strange;
Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
With swift, slow; sweet,sour; adazzle, dim;
He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change:
Praise him.
2) Assonance元韵
She sees the falling leaves, the dying leaves
That cling there still; above
Through the brown horror of the boughs she sees
The empty, arching skull.
3) End rhyme 尾韵
He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ring’d with the azure world, he stands.
The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.
4)Eye rhyme (visual rhyme)目韵
We go, but ere we go from home,
As down the garden-walks I move,
Two spirit of a diverse love
Contend for loving masterdom.

2)Alternate rhyme 隔行押韵格式 abab

3)Kissing rhyme 吻韵格式 abba
