Abstract: Name is a part of culture and a special product of human history. It is not only used to identify one person to another, but also closely relates to a nation’s history, language, psychology, religion and customs. In the other words, personal name is the carrier and container of culture. Therefore, the study of the differences between Chinese and English names can help us learn more about Chinese and English culture,promote the Sino-British culture exchange and deal with our culture differences correctly.
