Abstract
This paper surveys the taxi jargon usage in Shenyang from the language selection, bad parole and politeness and other aspects. A survey was conducted through literature review, questionnaires, interviews to get the existing research results, the survey data and the respondents’ feedback, from which we can see the situation of the taxi jargon usage in Shenyang.
The survey was divided into three parts. The first part determined the survey and the perspective through the literature review and the interviews to develop the questionnaire. The surveys were distributed 171 questionnaires, including 168 efficiency questionnaires, efficiency 12%.The second part were mainly through the questionnaire to understanding the situation of the taxi jargon usage in deep. The third part would carry out further investigation from the problems which was found.
In this paper, three perspectives on the taxi jargon usage were used for investigation. The first part was the situation of the taxi jargon usage, in which the language selection, the bad parole and the politeness were included. The survey results show that the taxi jargon usage in Shenyang exits the need of mandarin, the lower frequency of usage of politeness, and there are also some taxi drivers who use the bad parole.
The second part surveyed the attitude of the passengers starting from the three perspectives above. The survey results show that the passengers on the attitude of taxi drivers’ language selection diversified tendency the mandarin and the Shenyang words. At the same time, the attitude of the bad parole is mostly negative, and the politeness is needed by the vast majority of passengers.
The third part is the factors of the language situation. In fact, the language itself, the quality of practitioners, related to supervision, training bined to effects the development of the taxi jargon usage.
