The Differents Between Chinese and Western Food Culture
“Food is the heaven to the people"
Since the human being cook with fire for the first time e to a civilian age ,the food we eat has begun to be of cultural property .
China has a long history of 5000 years, while the west has one of about six hundred years .China has a food culture that is colorful, profound and excellent, while the west has its own special culture. Now we’d like to talk about the differences between these two cultures from the following aspects.
1、The difference of idea about food (饮食观念)
What Chinese people care about is the deliciousness of food .They emphasize the idea of using some cooking skills to unite and harmonize the tastes of foods which have different natural properties。So they value the unity of different tastes and they always try to harmonize food of different natural properties into one.
Since the westerners form a special idea about the food science. The very idea is that balanced nutrient. In their opinion, one should choose his food only according to his need as an independent individual and the balanced requirement of all kinds of nutrients for each part of his body. They consider it is important to make the proper match of food by the criterion of variety and quantity.
In China's cookery, achieves the the delicacy to the most. The actions during cooking may destroy the nutrition constituent . As a result of a nutrition problem, in fact touched on the Chinese culinary culture to the greatest weakness
In western,they hold the rational diet idea The nutrition is the first .They just pay attention to the quantity of heat, vitamin and protein。Even though taste all in the same, the steaks are only one flavor, there is no art at all.
