Leslie Cheung (12 September 1956 – 1 April 2003), nicknamed elder brother (哥哥), was a film actor and musician from Hong Kong. Cheung was considered as “one of the founding fathers of Cantopop(粤语歌曲)”, and “combining a hugely ['hjudʒli] successful film and music career”

张国荣(1956年9月12日- 2003年4月1日),绰号哥哥,是一个来自香港的电影演员和音乐家。他被视为“ “粤语的开国元勋之一”,和“电影和音乐生涯的成功结合”。

In 1977, Leslie ['lesli:] won second prize by singing a song named "American pie" at the Asian Music Contest held by RTV. Then he began his career in the entertainment industry.
1977年，他参加丽的电视台举办的“亚洲新秀歌唱大赛”，改名张国荣。以一首《American Pie》夺得第二名，从此进入娱乐圈。后来有人评价丽的电视台对香港唯一的贡献，就是贡献了张国荣。
