Recently, Konyashin et al. [I. Konyashin, V. Khvostov, V. Babaev, M. Guseva, J. Mayer, A. Sirenko, A new hard allotropic form of carbon:

(EELS) of face centered cubic (fcc) carbon films that indicate unique electronic properties of this particular crystal phase of carbon.
