A New Base Station Deployment Method for WRSN
Based on Greedy Algorithm *

Abstract: The limited power supplies restricts the life and performance of the traditional wireless sensor networks.
Wireless rechargeable sensor networks ( WRSNs) are developed to get rid of this limitation by using wireless power
transmission technologies. Minimizing the number of the charging base stations is necessary to reduce the cost of de
ploying the WRSNs. The proposed double-circle greedy algorithm of this paper uses the minimum greedy circle cov
erage idea to optimize the deployment of the base stations. Under the comparison with existing algorithms, the simu
lated results show that the proposed algorithm not only has the advantages on less number of charging base stations,
but also gives out the specific locations of the base stations without the requirement of fixing the base stations to grid
points.
