My foremost gratitude is directed toward my advisor, Professor Zhu Xinfu. His
kindness and intelligence is a breeze to me during my years in Soochow University. With
his insightful guidance and unfailing encouragement, I finally finished the project of
writing this thesis.
I accepted plenty advice and directions during the time when writing this thesis. I
want to give my thanks to Professor Wang Labao and Professor Fang Hong. Their advice
to my proposal ensures the context of this thesis. It would be difficult not to acknowledge
the value of the courses I took with Professor Song Yanfang, who initiated my interests in
the issues of ecofeminism. I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to Professor
Huang Zhi, who offered me inspiring questions and comments.
To memorize means it is time to say goodbye. The years in Soochow University
would definitely be one of the most precious periods in my life. I owe my gratitude to all
the professors for their insightful instructions. And my sweet classmates in the graduate
school, their encouragement made me go through the difficulties in writing papers, taking
all the examinations, and finally, going through the process of writing thesis.
Finally, I want to dedicate to my dearest family. Without their encouragement, love
and companionship, I would never have achieved this goal.
