After receiving the call for help, it took only 56 minutes for the helicopter to transfer a serious patient to the operating room of Linyi Municipal People’s Hospital (LMPH) for emergency treatment from a place 80 kilometers away. This, in fact, indicates the remarkable progress of the first aid and medical services in and around the Yimeng mountainous area, where Linyi City is located. Moreover, in terms of first aid ability and emergency treatment, LMPH can match other high-level hospitals from home and abroad.
LMPH, with a time-honored history of more than 110 years, is the largest modern general 3A’s hospital in the large area of southern Shandong and northern Jiangsu Provinces, serving 14 million people as well as specializing in medical care, teaching, scientific research, first aid, and rehabilitation. With a view toward providing high quality, high efficiency, and convenient medical service, in December 2000, when commencing the construction of a main building, LMPH planned to provide first aid by air, and constructed a parking apron on the roof of the building, which covers an area more than 1000 square meters. The building, towering 106 meters, has 24 floors above ground and covers an area o
