新闻写作的基本要求：真实性、时效性、可读性、针对性、思想性
时效性：新鲜、快速、简短
新鲜：要加强今日新闻的采写，学会在报道中把最新鲜、最精彩的信息或内容“拎”出来，用最明显的形式摆在读者的面前，寻找新闻的最近点，尽可能找出某件新闻事实在今天的依据，
快速：学会集中精力，不受外界干扰，在不同的工作条件下都能迅速投入写作，养成打腹稿的习惯，熟练掌握新闻各种文体的写作要领，善于准备好各种写作素材，注意培养口述新闻的能力。
简短：一事一报，说清楚一件事；把主题破小，角度选小，架子搭小；化整为零，多一些滚动报道、组合报道、连续报道；挤掉水分，只讲事实。
可读性：具体、生动、通俗
具体：报道要用事实说话，用形象的可感事实说话，选题角度、报道内容要具体；新闻报道的叙述以及情节、细节要具体，
生动：把新闻写活，新闻报道要有感染力。一般越具体就会越生动；报道要“见人”这是让稿件“活”起来的一个关键；注意谋篇布局，注意新闻事件的戏剧性和冲突性。
通俗：就是把新闻报道写得深入浅出。明白如话，解决“新闻官腔”的问题，学会“第二种翻译”（对行话进行翻译），巧妙地处理新闻报道中的数字。
