prefer sb / sth 更喜爱某人/ 物
prefer doing sth = like doing sth better 更喜爱做某事
prefer sth to sth “比起……更喜爱……”
prefer doing sth to doing sth 比起做……更喜爱做……（prefer后为喜爱的，to后为不喜爱的）
eg：I prefer doing to talking.
prefer to do sth 更想去做某事
prefer to do sth rather than do sth “宁愿做某事而不愿做某事”
= would rather do sth than do sth
eg: He preferred to telephone her rather than write to her. 他宁愿给她打电话，也不愿给她写信。
