The Essential 55 (学生基本守则55条)
1  When responding to adults, you must answer by saying, “Yes ma’am” or “No sir.”回答大人问话,要说“是的,夫人”或者“不,先生。” 
2.  Make eye contact.。看着对方的眼睛(进行目光交流)。 
3.  If someone in the class wins a game or does something well, we will congratulate that person. 如果班上有人获胜或做得很好,我们要祝贺他。
4. During discussions, respect other students' comments, opinions, and ideas. 讨论时,要尊重别人的评论,意见和想法。 
5. If you win or do well at something, do not brag. If you lose, do not show anger.  要是获胜或做得好,不要夸耀。要是输了,不要气恼。
6. If you are asked a question in conversation, you should ask a question in return.  对话中,别人问(候)你一个问题,你也要问(候)对方一个问题。
7. When you cough or sneeze or burp, it is appropriate to turn your head away from others and cover your mouth with the full part of your hand. 咳嗽、打喷嚏或打嗝时,合适的做法是转过头去用整个手捂着嘴。 
8. Do not smack your lips, “tsk”, roll your eyes, or show disrespect with gestures. 不要咂嘴、咋舌、翻白眼或做无礼的手势。
9. Always say thank you when you are given something.   接受別人送的东西,要說“謝謝”。
10. When you receive something, do not insult the gift or the giver. 接受东西时,不要侮辱礼物或送礼物的人。
11. Surprise others by performing random acts of kindness.   时不时做点善事,给人以惊喜。 
12. When grading other students' papers, give only the correct grade.
评阅同学的卷子,要正确评分(不多给也不少给分)。
13. Follow along when we read together in class. 全班一齐朗读时要跟上。
14. Answer all written questions with plete sentence. 对所有的书面问题,回答时都用完整的句子。
15. Do not a
