St. Valentine’s Day( February 14th)圣瓦伦丁节,情人节(2月14 日) Valentine was a priest in Rome at the time Christianity was a new religion. The Emperor of Rome at that time, Claudius II, ordered the Roman soldiers not to marry or e engaged. Claudius believed that as married men, his soldiers would want to stay home with their families rather than fight his wars. Valentine broke the law and secretly married the young couples. He was eventually arrested, imprisoned, and put to death. Valentine was beheaded(斩首) on February 14th. After his death, Valentine was named a saint, and the day of his death was named Saint Valentine’s Day.
