1 武汉音乐学院硕士研究生学位论文钱琦论威伯恩的风格转型从表现主义到新古典主义 Abstract This paper expounds the characteristics and reasons of evolution of Webern style combining Webern’s life and his pursuit of art, which takes Webern’s music creation as the research object, takes the situation of his music creations in various periods and relevant music analysis as the breakthrough point, and takes the social background in 20th century, the origin of school of expressionism and school of neoclassicism and etc, and characteristics of music language as the research base. The body consists of three parts: Chapter 1 , introducing Webern’s life and the progress of position in four phases. Chapter 2 , elaborating the characteristics of his music creation and the shift of style. Through the analysis of the overall characteristtics of his creation, and on the basis of relavant musical analysis, the fact that Webern converted from expressionism to neoclassicism is discussed . Chapter 3, from the historical prospect of view, reasons for his conversion in threee respcts, including the social environment, the development of anization of instruments, and his personal pursuit are being found. At the end, the conclusion that the shift of Webern’s music from expressionism to neoclassicism is determined by his conception of musical creation and the requirements of the development of music is drawn, by summarizing the thesis.
