The Causes and Strategy of Misdiagnosis for Breast Masses by Ultrasonic Elastography

Abstract Objective: To probe the causes and strategy of misdiagnosis for breas t masses by ult rasonic elas to graphy (UE). Met hods: Four hundred and fifty-eight patients with 597 lesions confirmed by pathology were examined by UE. The causes of misdiagnosis by UE were analysed. ResuIts: Twenty—seven malignant masses were misdiagnosed as benign lesions and 7 benign masses were misdiagnosed as malignant lesions・ Conclusions: Comprehending the principle, correct examination method and improved elastographic strain scores may be helpful for increasing the accuracy of UE for diagnosing breast lesions・
