Abstract
The translation es from two papers on college sports education and culture,
whose titles are Olympic Ceremony Culture and Olympic Education of University and
Analysis of Media and Cultural Ideas of Chinese College Basketball Tournament
respectively. The former analyses the extensive educational function of Olympic ceremonies
such as the torch relay, the opening, closing and award ceremonies, and bining
these ceremonies with college art festival and athletic meeting to promote the spreading of
Olympic Games among young people. The latter systemically analyses the medium spread
and cultural concepts of some influential college basketball tournaments, including CUBA,
CUBS, Li-Ning 3 +1 Campus Basketball Challenge, and calls on the media and college to
pay more attention to basketball culture when reporting.
This translation report is divided into four parts. Part one gives a brief introduction to
translation task and materials; part two describes the whole translation progress, before, in,
and after translation; part three selects some sentences to explore proper translation methods,
. the literal translation, splitting bining of sentences, omission and the choice of
words; part four summaries factors influence translation and ways to improve translation
level, suggesting translators to enhance bilingual language level an
