Brief introduction
Brazil, the largest country in the South America, known as the kingdom of football. The land area ranks fifth in the world, the population is over 2 hundred million, called the melting pot of ethnics.
Economic status
Brazil’s GDP is the first in the South America and it is the world’s seventh largest economy, it is also one of the BRICS countries, and has great contribution to the world economy
Politics
Brazil is a presidential Republic, the capital is Brasilia, the present president is Dilma Rousseff. As a colony of Portugal in the history, official language is Portuguese.
The Core Culture
The core culture of Brazil is derived from Portuguese culture, because of its strong colonial ties with the Portuguese empire. Among other influences, the Portuguese introduced the Portuguese language, Roman Catholi cismand colonial architectural styles. The culture was, however, also strongly influenced by African, indigenous and non-Portuguese European cultures and traditions.
Some aspects of Brazilian culture were influenced by the contributions of Italian, German and other European as well Japanese, Jewish and Arab immigrants who arrived in large numbers in the South and Southeast of indigenous Amerindians influenced Brazil's language and cuisine; and the Africans influenced language, cuisine, music, dance and religion.
Cuisine
Brazil, the largest country in South America, has a great variety of traditional foods and desserts. These foods and desserts often are the result of bination of ingredients brought by the different cultures that have arrived to the country.
The Music
The music of Brazil was formed mainly from the fusion of European and African the eenth century Portugal was the gateway to most of the influences that built Brazilian music, although many of these elements were not of Portuguese origin, but generally European.
