Chapter 1: Introduction
With the overall development of the Chinese economy, new things and new phenomena appear constantly, especially showed in the politics, economy, science and social life. Accordingly, a large number of rich and special words emerge. Chinese culture-loaded words are ing increasingly important, referring to the uniqueness of Chinese items, and of course, contain the connotation of Chinese culture. The Chinese-specific words and their translations have made some great achievements. Some journals open up columns to publish the translation of political and economic words, in which there are considerable Chinese-specific words and their translation. The website of China Daily also opens up a column of words with latest translations, especially providing the corresponding translation of hot words. The new C/E piled are impressive. There are rich entries in these dictionaries, including the new Chinese-specific words and the loanwords which have entered China’s society and e people’monly used language. Recently, a series of lexical books on the translation of Chinese-specific words have been publi shed.
