英文俚语,英式和美式对比.docx

Ace = brilliant(brill).多用于利物浦。
Aggro – aggravation 愤怒或者时激愤,常见于球赛中.(英国球迷,汗颜中)trouble 意思相近! There is sometimes aggro in the cities after the pubs shut!
All right? –南方常用词, 意思等同于"Hello, how are you"? 另一种方式用于比较熟的人"all right mate"? 年轻人常用。回答方式也是All right?
Anti-clockwise –逆时针, 美式用法counter-clockwise。尽量不要在英国适应美式用法,会让人误解为和顺时针作战的!
Any road = anyway, 常见于英国北部,不是全英通用。Derby, York, Newcastle常见.
Arse = ass 美语中没有或者不用这个词。常见短语"pain in the arse" 翻译为相当硌应或者相当烦人, I "can't be arsed" =I can't be bothered 没工夫理(它)。"a half arsed attempt" 可以理解为没有尽力做。
Arse about face –形容做事情反着来,贬义
Arse over elbow英式=head over heels= ass over teakettle美式摔倒的意思,形容狗啃屎式的摔倒。一般用来形容12点酒吧关门后那些酒鬼的。
Arse over tits –意思同上。但是用法更为地域化一些。Tits是女性第二性特征。尽量少用。
Arsehole = Asshole 这个不用解释了吧~
Arseholed - Drunk! 如果后面加了个d意思就变了。醉酒的意思,常用于酒吧而且是熟人之间才用的。
Ass –这个词在英国80%是在说驴,剩下的才是我们上学时候学的意思。
y – o,约等于fag, 这个大多数用来讲英国人抽得手卷的烟。而fag用途更为广泛一些,烟卷和卷烟都叫这个。
Barmy –疯掉?大家看例句理解含义吧。Gone mad 的意思。例句: You'd have to be barmy to visit England without trying black pudding!
black pudding 是一种英式早餐多见于苏格兰,用猪血和内脏加(大麦)做得一种类似香肠的东西。近似于朝鲜族的米肠,区别在于皮不能吃而且是要煎的!
