Business topic: starting a business
Would you like to sum up the different types of business(公司类型)?
Sole trader(独立经营店):you are self-employed and set up the business on your own.
Partnership (合伙经营店):you are self-employed and start a business with another person. You are both equally liable.
Franchise (特许经营,加盟连锁店):you buy a license to trade under the name of the franchisor and you benefit from the franchisor’s expertise.
Think about the advantages and disadvantages of different types of business.
Sole trader: you are independent; you are your own boss; you take all the profits; if you go bankrupt, you lose everything.
Partnership : you share the profits and risks with your partner; you may disagree with your partner on strategy.
Franchise :
Franchising enables people to both own a business and get help running it.
A well-run anization can provide a person who has never managed a business with guidance.
Franchisors can provide a brand name, products or services, and financial assistance.
Franchisee have to pay franchise fees and they lose some independence.
As a franchisee, your promotional activities, financial records, hiring, service procedure are not plete control of your own.
