Woodcarving Museum
The Woodcarving Museum, formerly the residence of local rich people Xu Family, also named Hundred Flower Hall, is well-known for its exquisite wood carvings. It’s carved beams and painted rafters, especially the human figures, birds and four-feet animals on the doors and windows by various carving skills.
Huiyuan Pawnshop
The Huiyuan Pawnshop is the last pawnshop in business until 1948 in Wuzhen. The close of Huiyuan Pawnshop ended the history of pawn in Wuzhen. The site of the pawnshop became a symbol of financial industry of the old china, with many legends and stories behind the mottled iron doors.
The large environment-friendly manual dyeing and drying workshop covers a land of 2500㎡. Paved with blue bricks, the cloth-drying ground is erected with dense high poles and steplike frames for cloth drying. The workshop has a unique process of color printing, using various dye-stuffs distilled from natural grass and trees. Therefore it was named Foliage Dyeing Workshop.
