中世纪是处于文明与复兴之间的时代,在历史上被认为是黑暗和野蛮的。好多文
人学者对其望而却步,认为中世纪是一个文化和艺术匮乏的时代,而这些论断往往是
与古希腊罗马文化和文艺复兴的辉煌对比而得出的。中世纪的一千年,因为特殊的社
会文化环境,导致其艺术呈现出异于常规的形式。而这些奇诡的艺术形式,被称为是
倒退的、落后的、野蛮的。文艺复兴是西欧国家文化和艺术大繁荣的一个时期。乔托
出生在中世纪的末期,文艺复兴的初期,他是在两个文化交替的缝隙中生存的伟大艺
术家。可以说他是中世纪最后一名艺术家,也可以说他是文艺复兴的第一位艺术家。
因为他在面对中世纪艺术长期遗留下来的公式化、概念化的风格问题上做出了革新的
一步,自他之后中世纪的艺术开始踏入新的征程,逐渐步入文艺复兴的行列。
乔托是一个处在文化交替背景下的艺术家,而且比我们生活的时代要早近千年,
研究其绘画艺术,首先要了解其生活的时代大环境,包括精神环境、社会环境、艺术
环境等方面,这样不仅抓住研究的基调,给下文也提供论述的背景。在此基础上对其
绘画形式及内容进行详细的论述,最后总结出乔托绘画的艺术价值及对中国当代艺术
的启发。本文通过对乔托风格及形成过程的研究,对这位大师及其在艺术史上的地位
做出了新的阐释,其艺术地位的建立,不容忽视的是特殊的时代文化背景和众多先驱
的探索结果。

Abstract
Between is a civilization in the middle ages and the Renaissance era in history was
considered to be a dark and brutal. Lots of writers and scholars to its prohibitive finds that
century was an era of lack of culture and art, and these arguments tend to be with ancient
Greece and Roman culture and brilliant contrast derived from the Renaissance. 1000 years
of the middle ages, because a special socio-cultural environment, resulting in its artistic
presentation different from conventional forms. The surpassing and strange art form, known
