Titanic is a 1997 American epic romantic historical disaster film directed, written, co-produced, and co-edited by James Cameron. A fictionalized account of the sinking of the RMS Titanic, it stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ship during its ill-fated maiden voyage.
Cameron‘s inspiration for the film was predicated on his fascination with shipwrecks(海难); he wanted to convey the emotional message of the tragedy, and felt that a love story interspersed with the human loss would be essential to achieving this.

Avatar is a 2009 American epic science fiction film written and directed by James Cameron. The film is set in the mid-22nd century, when humans are mining(采矿) a precious mineral on Pandora.
After graduating, he worked several jobs such as truck driving(卡车驾驶) and wrote when he had time. During this period he taught himself about special effects: “I‘d go down to the library and pull any thesis that graduate students had written about optical printing(光学印片), or front screen projection(前投影), or dye transfers(染印), anything that related to film technology. That way I could sit down and read it, and if they’d let me photocopy(影印) it, I would. If not, I'd make notes."
