“看图学文”的每幅图，都是紧扣课文内容而作的，教学时，首先要指导学生仔细看图。接着再指导学生学文。要切实做到“看图学文”，而不是“学文看图”，更不是“看文学文”。要充分利用课文的每一幅图，使图文结合。在教学中，为了使这两个方面紧密联系起来。教师可先设计几个问题来引导学生仔细看图，从图中找出答案，然后再让学生阅读课文，并且要对照图画，看自己刚才从图中所找的答案是否正确，从而激发了学生的求知欲。例如教学《乌鸦喝水》一课，教师让学生先仔细看课文中的三幅图，接着让学生带着这些问题来仔细看课文中的三幅图：1、乌鸦开始为什么会喝不着水？2、后来乌鸦又是怎么喝到水的？学生仔细观察图后，就会各用一句话来概括图意：1、瓶子里有水，但是乌鸦喝不着。
